CrPC amendment to go to JS soon

The Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Act 2009 will be placed before parliament soon to legalise the judicial activities during the sixteenth months
since the separation of the judiciary.
If the bill is passed in parliament, it will come into effect retrospectively from November 2007, Shafiq told reporters at the secretariat.
Parliament will also decide on whether the caretaker government's ordinance will be further amended to provide judicial power to executive officers.
On war crimes trials, the minister reiterated that they may be tried under the International Crime Tribunal Act 1973.
The Constitution also says that none will be allowed to challenge a trial under the Act, said Shafiq.
